In order to make sure company formation is right for you we will advise on the pros and cons of incorporation in your own situation.

Our company formation package includes:

Company Secretarial Services

We can provide a Confirmation Statement

This is a document that Limited Companies and Partnerships must file at Companies House each year, for limited companies it contains details of directors and shareholders and for Partnerships it details their members. It also shows the businesses registered address

Registered Office

We can provide our address as your registered office, this is primarily used for Companies House and HMRC to send communications. There are some great benefits of using us as your registered address such as;

  • Ensures continuity if you change address.
  • Prevents junk mail from being sent to you.
  • Provides a professional address.
  • Stops your address from appearing on the public register.

VAT Services

A business needs to register for VAT with HMRC when they reach £85,000 turnover and submit a VAT return every quarter.  Although you could complete your VAT return yourself, it is not as simple as you might think. There are many VAT rules like selling goods and services, hiring or loaning goods to someone and selling business assets. In addition, some services are VAT-exempt, while others have a reduced VAT rate of 0% or 5%.

Also, with the introduction of Making Tax Digital for VAT, you may not be confident in submitting your VAT return yourself, so you may need a helping hand to guide you in the right direction.

We can:

  • Advise on the choice of appropriate scheme.
  • Prepare your VAT returns.
  • Deal with any disputes that arise with HMRC.
  • Attend at VAT inspections.
  • Prepare your VAT registration from start to finish.
  • Help you plan correctly for VAT payments.

HMRC Enquiries

HMRC has the power to open a tax enquiry into any tax return or set of business accounts. You may well come under enquiry through no fault of you own or of you accountant as HMRC now investigates businesses at random as well as for specific reasons. Being the subject of a tax investigation can be a worrying experience and without expert advice can also be very costly.

At IJB we will:

  • Talk you through the enquiry process and what to expect.
  • Liaise with HMRC on your behalf.
  • Give advice and support throughout in order to make the whole experience much less stressful so that you can concentrate on the running of your business.
  • Provide a Tax fee insurance – this will protect you from the accountancy costs of dealing with an enquiry.

Payroll Services

Dealing with weekly or monthly payroll can be very time consuming. Let us take the strain away and let you concentrate on running your business.

We can provide a range of payroll services tailored to your needs which include:

  • Running your payroll on a weekly or monthly basis.
  • Providing payslips for employees.
  • Dealing with leavers and starters.
  • Maintaining SSP records and calculating SSP/SMP entitlement.
  • Assisstance with automated payment set up to your employees.
  • Preparing year end returns P35, P60 and P14s.

Personal Tax

Whether you are in business as a sole trader or in a partnership or have income from a source such as a property or a capital gain, preparing your self assessment tax return is something that needs careful attention and knowledge of our hugely complex tax legislation.

We prepare self assessment tax returns for many clients as part of our regular work for them.

Our self assessment work for you will likely include:

  • Considering ways in which you can minimise the tax you pay
  • Computation of liabilities
  • Ensuring all your available reliefs and allowances are claimed
  • Representing you in the event of an investigation by Revenue & Customs
  • Filing your tax return with Revenue & Customs

Corporation Tax

Complying with your corporate tax self assessment requirements is another area which can place pressure on you as the business owner.

You must pay Corporation Tax on profits from doing business as a limited company, a club, co-operative or unincorporated association e.g. a community or sports club.

We can help by providing the following corporate tax services:

  • Preparing Corporation Tax and Capital Allowances computations.
  • Preparing and submitting Corporation Tax Return form CT60.
  • Dealing with all routine enquiries on your behalf.

Capital Gains Tax Return on UK Property

You must report and pay any tax due on UK residential property using a HMRC Capital Gains Tax on UK property account within 60 days of selling the property.

You may have to pay interest and a penalty if you do not report gains on UK property within 60 days of selling the property.

This may seem like a daunting task, but we can take care of it for you
